Damascus Worship
Music Ministry and Session Speaker
We are also thrilled to welcome back once again Damascus Worship to be our music ministry for the event. Damascus is a community of missionaries come from and who are passionate about brining revival to the Catholic Church. They believe that when a generation of people are awakened to God’s love, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and equipped with the tools to live a life on mission, it will change the world.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do chaperones have to pay to get into Spirit Day?
Yes, chaperones do need to pay the $50 registration fee.
How do I register my child for Spirit Day?
You can register through your Catholic School teacher, your Parish Religious Education Program (PREP) teacher, or as an independent group. We only accept group registrations for Spirit Day to ensure that the mandatory minimum chaperone-to-youth ratio of 1:8 is met. This is for the safety and all youth attending. So, for example, if you have 8 youths who want to attend, you will need at least 1 adult chaperone (someone who is responsible for the group and is 19+ years of age). If you have 9 -16 youth, you will need to register another adult chaperone to stick to the 1:8 ratio. It is possible to register a minimum group size of 1 chaperone and 1 youth.
Does Spirit Day typically fill up/sell out?
It looks like the Saturday event will be filling up soon, so get your registration forms and payment in as soon as you can so you won’t be disappointed! (Don’t forget that the t-shirt order deadline is Friday, October 17, 2025 at 4:30 p.m. Any registrations and t-shirt orders submitted after that date/time will not be given an event t-shirt.)
Is a t-shirt included in the registration fee?
Event t-shirts are only given to those who register prior to the Friday, October 17, 2025, t-shirt order deadline.
How do I pick up my Group Registration Kit (nametags and t-shirts)?
All registration packages will be ready for pick-up at Pacific Academy (in the media building across the parking lot from Chandos Pattison Auditorium) during the following times:
What if I can’t have gluten? Will there be a special meal available for me?
At this time, we are only able to offer a vegetarian and a regular (no dietary restriction) lunch/snack. All food will be nut-free. If you or someone in your group has any dietary restrictions, we ask that they bring their own lunch and snacks. A place to hold your food will be provided (no refrigeration or heating up of food is available).
Cost: $50 per person
All participants must register with a parish, school or ministry group.
Register before Friday, October 17 to receive an event T-shirt.

What is Spirit Day?
Spirit Day is an annual one-day event designed for Grade 7 students! Presented by the Archdiocese of Vancouver, it is a celebration of faith designed to awaken the Holy Spirit in young people and get them excited about receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation.
The event includes engaging, inspirational talks from Maggie Craig, praise & worship music, Holy Mass with our own Archbishop Richard Smith, as well as skits and other fun bits created and performed by local youth and young adults.
10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Who can attend?
Spirit Day is open to Grade 7 students, especially those who will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation this year. Spirit Day is also exciting and relevant for the Adult Chaperones who will be accompanying the youth at the event.
Note: Adult chaperones are required for each group. The required chaperone-to-youth ratio is 1:8.
The Archdiocese of Vancouver acknowledges that the land on which we gather and work is the traditional and ancestral territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
VOLUNTEER
We are always looking for volunteers of all ages (from Grade 10 to older adults)! Spirit Day cannot function without volunteers like yourself who are so willing to serve with joyful hearts.
This year's theme: Hope
Building on the Jubilee Year theme, "Pilgrims of Hope," we remind the youth that amid the changes they may face in the coming months—such as starting a new school year, transitioning to high school, preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation, or experiencing personal growth spiritually, mentally, and physically—they can always turn to Jesus as their source of stability.
The Mass readings for the Feast of the Dedication of St. John Lateran speak of living water that gives life and remind us that we are God's temple, built on the firm foundation of Christ. Even when we stumble or feel overwhelmed, we can hold fast to the hope we have in God and in His saving grace.
NOTE: Please read through the registration guidelines as there is a lot of very important information about this event.
Archbishop Richard Smith
Archbishop of Vancouver
Archbishop Smith will be celebrating Holy Mass with us at both the Saturday and Sunday events. He was recently installed as our new Archbishop on May 23 and this will be his first Spirit Day event here in Vancouver. Join us in welcoming His Grace to Spirit Day!
